Everyone seems to really enjoy Thao Nguyen [Myspace], but I can’t really seem to classify what she does. The San Francisco-based musician (who tours and records as Thao and the Get Down Stay Down) sounds an awful lot like Cat Power, but I think she’s quite awesome and could just care less what we “should” call her and her posse. She’s fun and bright, a refreshingly burst of fresh air on a Tuesday that you really don’t quite know what to make of.
