Coming off the success of their critically-acclaimed debut LP, High Expectations/Low Results, Faunts [Myspace] are prepping for their next full-length release with a new EP that features their notable sound turned up a full ten notches in “indie-intensity”. The Edmonton-based act were born in the fall of 2000 by brothers Tim and Steven Batke, quickly becoming the stars of their burgeoning music scene. Before long, they had already shared the stage with prominent Canadian bands Broken Social Scene, Stars, and Do Make Say Think, and while they weren’t stealing the spotlight away from these notable acts, they were able to win over a sizable following with months of powerful live performances. Their biggest break, however, would come in the form of the song we have featured here, “M4 (Part II)”, which played over the end credits in one of last year’s biggest games, Mass Effect.

This song, “M4 (Part II)” comes to us off the EP of the same name. These guys are amazing, but having recently read “The Judas Strain” by James Rollins, their video for the lead single creeps me out.
Something with the crabs, yo.
