Yeasayer Announce Fall Tour

Brooklyn’s own Yeasayer [Official Site, Myspace] have announced their highly anticipated fall tour dates for North America. On top of making two completely awesome stops in Kings County (that’s Brooklyn to non-New Yorkers) at Music Hall of Williamsburg, the experimental quartet will be kicking ass on the West Coast as well, so now all the whiny folks in LA can finally say “I was there when…” and pretend to be cooler-than-thou like always.

Just kidding, Left Coasters. You know SMS loves you too.

Yeasayer’s latest release, All Hour Cymbals, is a sonic cluster of awesomeness, focused solely on cultivating beautiful noise among the alarming array of trash sounds. It’s like city living, frankly, and I hope to God they keep up their “face rocking” ways.

“Dear North Americans.

After nearly a year of incessant touring totaling over 200 shows we are happy to announce a wrap-up of sorts for the propagation of YEASAYER’s debut LP All Hour Cymbals. Over the last couple years we have been working away on a grassroots policy that was void of any puff pieces or advertisements. The gospel of YEASAYER spread through word of mouth (in some turf known as blogs) and the swapping of sounds. We are happy where we have gotten and are excited about the next slope to climb, praying one day we might also find that old man with the colored sword.

In celebration of what has been a splendid term on this continent we are pleased to announce the following in bullet point format:

+ YEASAYER will embark on two journeys through N. America, the Northeast/Midwest in October, and the West Coast in November. These shows will be YEASAYER’s first ever-headlining engagements.

Promised on this tour will be:

- brand new songs not heard on previous N. American tours

- a repaired voice for the son of Cricket, Anand Wilder

- new stage design incorporating projectors, lcd grids, and possibly a weather balloon

+ LP format for All Hour Cymbals will finally be realized in late fall/early winter. The LP will include lyrics and will be pressed on 180 gram black vinyl.

+ YEASAYER will be returning to the studio in early 2009 to begin recording the follow up to All Hour Cymbals. I have heard demos and they are mind slaying. The debut barely breached the surface of magnificence that is to come.

More details to come as our haze clears and our home beds get warmer.”
