Peter, Bjorn & John vs The Cure MASHUP

I like mashups as much as the next guy, but I thought I had heard “Young Folks” enough times to think there wasn’t much more that could be done with the track. I am glad to be able to say that I was wrong, as DJ Paul V. featured this amazing track over at Popbytes [link] that features The Cure’s “A Forest” and PB&J’s hit dueling for supremacy. This might be my favorite mashup since Dangermouse’s The Grey Album, which I swear I don’t own a copy of. (*wink*)

FROM DJ PAUL V:

Every once in awhile a song comes along that gets so stuck in your head, you need a crowbar to get it out. That’s what happened with a lot of people when they heard Sweden’s finest, Peter, Bjorn, & John, and their fresh ‘n hip ‘Young Folks’ a couple of years ago. Me, I still love the damn thing, and if you add in another favorite band of mine – The Cure – well, hell, I’ll be whistling dixie for the rest of the year. It’s French mixer Mighty Mike who was up to the task of bringing them together.

Here’s the original “Young Folks” video because, frankly, I just realized how much I loved it.

  1. cool mix. the music video is reminiscent of health class text books from the 80’s but I still like it.
