The Vancouver-based rock act, Fake Shark Real Zombie [Myspace], have the most unbelievably rad name ever. There aren’t awards at any show in such a category, so we’re left to assign the band’s merit based on what they’ve managed to get out in the studio. Having recently released a “less-than-focused” effort in this month’s Angel Lust digital EP, and the band is set for a full release sometime this Spring.
Here’s to hoping they can pull their act together a bit more in the interim. Despite this showing, there is clearly an evolution evidenced in their latest work – the three strong(er) remixes they’ve provided for the world to check out.
The band is releasing remixed versions of three of the songs – Portishead’s tune “Sour Times”, while Ghost Frequency has a remix of the single “Angel Lust”, and lead singer, Kevin James Maher, AKA Kevvy Mental, remixed 16mm.
