Shawn and I were sitting at a table in Brooklyn’s Littlefield (site of this weekend’s After The Jump Fest!) the other day when the topic of album of the year came up. I told him it was hands down the Rural Alberta Advantage. He said no. He said he hadn’t even listened to them yet. After my heart finished breaking and my anger subsided (this took quite some time…), I calmly informed him that I was already planning on hijacking the Radio Exile end of the year best album poll. Holly is already on my side and we are a coalition of the willing (willing….to ROCK!). I’m actively recruiting other Radio Exile writers to join in voting Hometowns as album of the year (hey Dan….join the coalition…all the cool kids are doing it). Shawn of course says this is all irrelevant as he controls the poll and will rig it so whoever he wants to win will win. F-him, I say. Us Rural Alberta Advantage fans will prevail!

So that’s it for Rural Alberta Advantage/Radio Exile news. Now for just the Rural Alberta Advantage news! New tour dates! Woot! Check them out! They’ll be at the Bowery Ballroom on October 7th. How do you say “I’ll be there!” in Canadian??? I’m also sort of tempted to drive out to Ithaca to see them on 9/6. RAA + Deer Tick + Hold Steady?? Holy road trip moses! Who’s with me!?

And because we love you, below is an mp3. Don’t tell you’re mother or she’ll yell at us and say that we spoil you.
