Experience Love and Terror with The Cinematics

A couple of weeks back, we were pretty happy to bring you the video for the new track from The Cinematics [MySpace], “Love and Terror“. At the time, I was bummed not to be able to offer you all the mp3, but thanks to their label (hooray!), we can finally get down to business.

My quick take: it’s a darker, more “jangly” sound for the band and while I wouldn’t have thought that this was where the band was going, I can’t say that I am disappointed. In fact, I really like it and think that “New Mexico” is among my favorite songs of 2009. Take that, Tom. He thinks that Rural Alberta Advantage’s album “Hometowns” is the album of the year but I think we’ve got another darkhorse with this one.

The band debuted some tracks at AOL’s Spinner last week and we’ve got those tracks, so check them out “after the jump”

“Scottish rockers The Cinematics premiered the second single from their long-awaited sophomore LP, Love And Terror, on AOL Spinner last week. The track, titled “New Mexico,” features a soaring, anthemic chorus while frontman Scott Rinning wonders, “are we staring at the same stars?”

In other news, the band has been taking Europe by storm with their impassioned live shows for the last two weeks, and will continue to do so through November. Seriously, there’s already been one injury and one illness due to the guys’ extreme rocking! Read all about it on their MySpace page.

Love And Terror hits all stores on October 6th, but you can hold yourself over with the goodies below.”
