Video Hook-Up: Animal Kingdom – “Tin Man”

animalkingdom2

Animal Kingdom [MySpace] recently released their album Signs and Wonders to rave reviews from critics and the praise of fans. Their tune, “Tin Man,” is featured here in a great video and the song earned the distinction of Track of the Month at Blender.com. Their assertion that the track is “like Coldplay fronted by Jon Anderson of Yes” is spot-on; after 3-4 listens I finally came to a similar conclusion, but added the word “good” in front of Coldplay to designate the time B.A. or “before Apple”.

I usually hate to post major label stuff here on the site but I really dig the tune, so check out the video “after the jump”

“Animal Kingdom’s dark and atmospheric pop is helped in no small way by the vocals of Richard Sauberlich, who manages to effectively communicate a sonic depiction of a lonely soul stumbling down a windswept street. It’s like Coldplay fronted by Jon Anderson of Yes… in a good way. Animal Kingdom’s debut album Signs and Wonders is out in the US on iTunes [link opens iTunes].”
