Over the weekend, I got a really nice tip about a Danish band, The Boombox Hearts [Facebook]. The quintet describe themselves as “melancholic indie pop” with a penchant for nostalgic 60s fare, which isn’t a pretty odd combination, so long as you don’t expect to hear Owl City or another twee-pop act.
Two members of the group played together in the uber-rad Oliver North Boy Choir and we managed to get a demo of their latest song, “Everything,” (plus a few more) which you can check out “after the jump”
These guys are really great, marking the only band that actually got me to download a track from an email onto my iPhone. The band are hoping to record an EP later this summer (July or August), so we will keep you all posted.
