hermes Drop Double A side, “Anyone Who Cares”/”More Love in Death”

hermes are an English trio that I am totally in love with at the moment. There’s a quality to their music that I can “feel,” something that helps me connect to a part of my Many moons ago, back when I was young and dumb and in college, I was lucky enough to spend a Spring Break in Cirencester. Yes, I went to England…in March. Smart idea, I know, but the idea was that I would (or so I thought) close to London and Bath and rad stuff. I thought I would be taking in all sorts of rad shows and hanging.

Instead, I was just left alone to watch TV, chainsmoke awful cigarettes and just plain brood about the relationship that I had gone there to save. It’s an appropriately somber time in my life, but I hold really fond memories of the trip. The people of Cirencester were great.

These two songs are a great example of this bright spirit they carried and some of the fantastic artists that I met while just wandering about during the day.
